3 Stars Nice Looking Fan, But Not That Powerful
Good looking fan, I have found that it is not so easy to find a silver/black fan. The normal colors seem to all be gold and wood grain. The fan is quiet and does not wobble at all, even on the highest setting. The only downsides is that this fan is not a powerful as the one it replaced. The CFM rating on the box is around 5000 cfm where as the on that it replaced was above 7000 cfm. No where on the internet i could find how powerful the fan was so i had no idea about how powerful this fan really was. Also the remote that came with the fan didn’t work but all-in-all this is a good fan for a master bedroom or smaller room.
5 Stars Excellent value
I was skeptical reading some of the other reviews after seeing several people complain about the fan randomly turning itself on. Fortunately, I haven’t had this problem.
This fan has been absolutely silent since day one. On low, it moves enough air to be useful but there’s no sound whatsoever. It really moves air on high, but there’s no noise from the motor (only wind noise) or any unbalancing issues to cause buzzing or wobbling. The remote is extremely convenient and the dimming feature is nice to have, too.
Overall, excellent value for the money and very well-built.
1 Star Product should be recalled
The lights go on by itself randomly, waking my daughter up. After doing much research, we changed the code three times which involved taking the fan down. It didn’t work, cleary a defective product. We now unscrew the light bulbs, not a great solution! It is a beautiful fan, but certainly not worth the trouble. I will contact Hunter Douglas, they should recall this product!
3 Stars Luck of the draw
I ordered two of these fans for my bedroom. One works perfectly, the other one is possessed. The light and/or fan turn on and off at all hours of the night. We’ve tried changing the switches and still had the same problem. It’s a pain to have the lights constantly turn on several times at night when you are trying to sleep. I’ve looked at replacement remotes since replacing 2 fans would be a pain, but the reviews for the receiver/remote are not good at all with a lot of the “posessed” ceiling fan complaints. I may try a non-hunter receiver/remote to see if that helps. Otherwise I will have to return both fans since I need matching ones in my room.
4 Stars Great fan after exorcisim
The fan is easy to install, it was my first time doing a ceiling fan so i was pretty happy with that.
Ran into a snag after it installed. The first night we were sleeping (its in our bedroom), the lights turned on by themselves at 4am. Next night, 2am. Here’s the key: BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT – change the dipswitches fromt he default, Trim the antennae, and trim the excess power cables. This is what i did (after i installed it – i had to take it down which was not fun) – now it’s fantastic, no issues at all. It looks great too.
