5 Stars AWESOME fan
This fan is perfect. It wasnt too bad to install and keeps our 56 sq foot bathroom dry. Like other peoples reviews have said, I swear if I stood there after I got out of the shower, it would dry me off. We dont use it in the winter since the house is so dry. I highly recommend it.

2 Stars Specs are not Detailed Enough
I am not an expert in heating and ventilation and sure enough don’t know much about bathroom fans. Never got around to testing the unit simply because it didn’t fit our vent pipe in the bathroom. The shape of the pipe wasn’t mentioned in the item description. This particular fan has round pipe and the one I have in my bath is square, of course. Doesn’t take genius to realize that round and square don’t go together for a proper fit…

5 Stars Good fan
Easier than we thought to install. It’s smaller than our old fan so drywall repair was needed. We installed it without even having to go into the attic. We lucked out a little – as there was plenty of wire up to reach the new fan’s wiring box.

It’s pretty quiet and works well. Recommended – and the price is right.

3 Stars Grill Cover Size
The grill cover is 9 1/2 at the widest point, tapering to 9″ at the corners. NOT 10″ as stated on the manufacture site. The fan is a squirrel cage design, not the cheaper centrifical blade type. It is suppose to move 80 CFM, but I think that is an xaggeration, because I have a cheaper centrifical 50CFM in another room and it moves more air. The fan is fairly quite.

5 Stars Quiet and good air volume
Not a lot to add to the previous reviews except that the noise level of this fan is surprisingly low. We replaced an old Nutone unit that was rated at 50 cfm and 4 sones with this one. The Hunter is so quiet that I often think I have forgotten to turn it on when I’m standing in the shower. It also clears the steam out of the bathroom more effectively than the old fan. We’ll see how many years of service we get out of this one. The motor in our old fan was generally good for five years or so. This one seems like an improvement in all aspects.

3 Stars Nice Looking Fan, But Not That Powerful
Good looking fan, I have found that it is not so easy to find a silver/black fan. The normal colors seem to all be gold and wood grain. The fan is quiet and does not wobble at all, even on the highest setting. The only downsides is that this fan is not a powerful as the one it replaced. The CFM rating on the box is around 5000 cfm where as the on that it replaced was above 7000 cfm. No where on the internet i could find how powerful the fan was so i had no idea about how powerful this fan really was. Also the remote that came with the fan didn’t work but all-in-all this is a good fan for a master bedroom or smaller room.

5 Stars Excellent value
I was skeptical reading some of the other reviews after seeing several people complain about the fan randomly turning itself on. Fortunately, I haven’t had this problem.

This fan has been absolutely silent since day one. On low, it moves enough air to be useful but there’s no sound whatsoever. It really moves air on high, but there’s no noise from the motor (only wind noise) or any unbalancing issues to cause buzzing or wobbling. The remote is extremely convenient and the dimming feature is nice to have, too.

Overall, excellent value for the money and very well-built.

1 Star Product should be recalled
The lights go on by itself randomly, waking my daughter up. After doing much research, we changed the code three times which involved taking the fan down. It didn’t work, cleary a defective product. We now unscrew the light bulbs, not a great solution! It is a beautiful fan, but certainly not worth the trouble. I will contact Hunter Douglas, they should recall this product!

3 Stars Luck of the draw
I ordered two of these fans for my bedroom. One works perfectly, the other one is possessed. The light and/or fan turn on and off at all hours of the night. We’ve tried changing the switches and still had the same problem. It’s a pain to have the lights constantly turn on several times at night when you are trying to sleep. I’ve looked at replacement remotes since replacing 2 fans would be a pain, but the reviews for the receiver/remote are not good at all with a lot of the “posessed” ceiling fan complaints. I may try a non-hunter receiver/remote to see if that helps. Otherwise I will have to return both fans since I need matching ones in my room.

4 Stars Great fan after exorcisim
The fan is easy to install, it was my first time doing a ceiling fan so i was pretty happy with that.

Ran into a snag after it installed. The first night we were sleeping (its in our bedroom), the lights turned on by themselves at 4am. Next night, 2am. Here’s the key: BEFORE YOU INSTALL IT – change the dipswitches fromt he default, Trim the antennae, and trim the excess power cables. This is what i did (after i installed it – i had to take it down which was not fun) – now it’s fantastic, no issues at all. It looks great too.

Good product overall, and you don’t need an engineering degree to assemble the ceiling fan, (I suppose it depends on who you ask) Quiet operation, and looks good. Heck it’s a ceiling fan after all, what more do you want it to do? Your dishes?

Fan was shipped well and arrived undamaged, even box was in great condition. Fan was easy to install and instructions were easy to read. Blades are reversible and fan runs extremely quiet. Fan doesn’t take standard base bulbs, but those b10 candelabra base bulbs (not included). Two 60 bulbs are sufficient lighting for a medium sized room. Fan has three settings and a reverse switch for summer/winter. It can also be mounted close to the ceiling, or on angled ceilings depending on preference. I would recommend considering the price.

5 Stars Efficient, economic ceiling fan
This is our third Hunter Fan replacing our old ceiling fans which were bought years ago. Our first two Hunter fans fit standard energy efficient bulbs but that style of ceiling fan wouldn’t work in our third room. Now that energy efficient candelabra bulbs are available, we were ready for this style of fan. The Hunter quality is high and the fan installed easily (took about one hour not including removing the old fan). It really moves the air which will help our stuffy apartment a lot during the summer. This is a great value worth the extra money over the no-name ceiling fans you might find in a chain store.

4 Stars Nice and bright; great for “older” homes
I desperately needed a new fan for my the nursery. We moved into a 40-year old house with the cheapest ceiling fans known to man. Since we don’t have air conditioning, we really need our fans to work in the summer. The old fan finally broke and I went online to find something that was neutral but also bright. One thing I know I didn’t want was a globe light because the chains pulls clang against the glass, especially if the fan gets off-balance even a little. The other thing I had to consider was how the fan mounted to the ceiling. Since our house was built more than 20 years ago, we don’t have 9 foot ceilings–they are 8 feet. Most ceiling fans I found looked great but would hang far too low for us. And ceiling hugger fans are usually just that–fans only, and if they do have a light, it’s a globe light.

Then I found this one. First, I like the fact that it has three lights to light up the whole room and not one globe “spotlight”. Second, you can install the fan at several different heights which is an option I don’t see on many lower-end ceiling fans, and believe me, I’ve looked. Third, I like the fact that if I want to change the look, I can turn the blades around. And I like the brushed nickel, much classier than the cheap gold look of the other fans we’ve had.

This fan not only looks good but is really easy to put up. Allow for three hours to get all of the parts assembled, but assembly is simple. I highly recommend that your celing box be metal, not plastic due to the weight. No problems with the fan so far!

I’ve been installing a bunch of fans around the house and this one was better in some respects and worse in others. In particular, I did not like the way the stud mount attached to the fan rod. The fan looks great and works similarly well. It came with a remote control that I did not use, but it seemed fine.

My husband and I build one log house per year for sale in the North Carolina mountains near Boone — photo of the house used on the cover of my mystery novel. This fan isn’t quite as attractive as it looked on the website. It has a swirl pattern on the glass globes and I either didn’t notice in the photos or it didn’t show up well. This fan fell down on top of my son after it was up for over a year. While it was on the fan itself seperated from the base. I have contacted the consumer safety commission and they are investigating the fan’s safety. The weight of this fan could have killed a small child.
